Wonderfully atmospheric photo of initial 7th PRG C.O. Major James Hall briefing pilots. Lt. Walter Dale Shade is the person obscuring the right fin/rudder of the F-5. Pilot on the far right front, sideways on with hands in pockets, is Lt. Arthur Waldron who was killed 5 February 1944 on a test flight in 42-67326. To the left of the Jeep, wearing flight jacket and "Mae West", is Capt. Howard "Hod" Nielsen who had just returned from a mission and 6th from the left, with his hand on his bicycle is Lt. Louis M. Gilmore who completed 47 missions with the 14th Photo Squadron.
