Lt. George D Hendrix, 434th Fighter Squadron. P-38J 42-68177 L2-C “Tarzana”. Lt. Hendrix named his P-38 after his hometown in California. Tarzana was the name of the ranch owned by author Edgar Rice Burroughs who named it after his fictional character Tarzan. The name was adopted by the people who resided in the town that grew around that area.
