364th Fighter Group Gallery

An unusual photo taken from the 364th FG unit history. One of a pair showing a crew member with the two sorts of drop tanks used but thankfully also including a P-47 allocated to the Group in the background which bears the unit nose markings. This is P-47D 42-8615, at one time with the 78th FG 84th FS where it was WZ-E “My Baby”, the assigned a/c of Lt. Robert O Laho. What it is doing with the 364th in unclear but it could possibly be for conversion purposes prior to any redeployment to the Far East post VE Day.
