Littlefriends.co.uk P-51B 43-6385 YF-B_ "Shanghai Lil / Bunky III" after a landing accident on 6 Aug '44. Cause was the dinghy attachment strap coming loose in flight and making contact with the fuse box located just above the floor on the right side of the cockpit. The plug was also resting on the right control cable. A short circuit resulted, burning the cable completely through and resulting in the loss of the use of that control. Pilot Lt. Peter J Pearson managed a three point landing but due to the control loss was unable to stop, resulting in the accident. This a/c was soon back in service and was lost on 28 Aug when Lt. John J Gilmore Jr. was KIA flying her.

Littlefriends.co.uk Maj. Walter J Gresham Jr. 358th Fighter Squadron. P-51D 44-##### YF-T "Trigger IV". This photo is, as far as I know, the only one seen so far of what must have been Maj. Gresham's last "Trigger" prior to rotating home in May 1945. All that's needed now is for someone to come up with the serial number. The YF-T is assumed at present in line with his previous P-51s and the fact that I have no YF-T listed after his "Trigger III".

Littlefriends.co.uk Lt. Theodore P Todd. 354th Fighter Squadron. P-51K 44-11### WR-D "Faithful Fernie II". This a/c has been listed as WR-D_ but as can be seen from the photo, this has most likely arisen from the proximity of the D-Day stripes. What a pity that the serial # is still unclear. The other two in shot are 44-15373 WR-N of Maj. Norman "Bud" Fortier and 44-14374 WR-A "Palma II" of Capt. Brady C Williamson.
